Baton Rouge, La. – The Southern University Ag Center will host the fourth session of its Facebook Live Series on Emergency Preparedness in the Wake of COVID-19 at 12 p.m. on July 31.
The live stream will focus on the topic of “Emergency Preparedness for Persons with Disabilities.”
“Emergencies and natural disasters present a unique, yet often familiar challenge for individuals with disabilities. When developing the blueprint for the Facebook Live Series, I wanted to ensure the programming would be inclusive of everyone throughout the communities we serve,” said Krystle Allen, SU Ag Center Extension Associate and Facebook Live Series host. “As I have stated before, emergencies affect everyone and are unavoidable; it is our responsibility to aid vulnerable communities in mitigating losses. Individuals with disabilities should have the same safety, security, and access to resources as individuals without disabilities,” added Allen.
The Emergency Preparedness Facebook Live series has included topics on Resources available for Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Preparedness for Children, and Older Adults.
The series
will be aired on the Southern
University Ag Center’s Facebook page.
