Baton Rouge, La. - SU Ag Center’s Nutrition and Health
program has recently co-authored an article in the Functional Foods in Health and Disease Journal (FFHD); Vol 6, No 7
(2016): July 2016 with Pennington Biomedical Center. SU Ag Center researchers, Drs.
Fatemah Malekian, nutrition professor, Sebhatu Gebrelul, animal science professor,
James F. Henson, statistician, Kasundra D. Cyrus, professor of family and consumer
sciences, De’Shoin Y. Friendship, extension specialist, and Mfamara Goita, research
associate, co-authored the article with Dr. Betty M. Kennedy, Pennington Biomedical
Research Center. The research article entitled “the effects of
whey protein, resistant starch and nutrition education on body weight,” is
in the current issue of the FFHD online journal.
The Functional
Foods in Health and Disease journal is a peer-reviewed open access
journal, which discusses various aspects of functional foods, bioactive
compounds, and chronic diseases.
