Baton Rouge, La. – USDA Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan announced a 9.6
percent increase in farmers
markets from 2011 with 7,864 operating across the country, as she launched the
National Farmers Market Week, August 5-11, 2012.
