Baton
Rouge, LA- The following training video (Preserving Produce via Canning,
Freezing and Drying) was produced
through a USDA Capacity Building Grant project entitled: "Eradicating Food
Deserts through the Development of School Gardens," by the Southern
University Ag Center and the Louisiana Public Broadcasting. The purpose of this
video is to teach families and children transferable skills to grow their own
fresh produce. The Southern University Ag Center (Baton Rouge, LA) is located
in a food desert, which means there is limited access to fresh produce. This
video was developed with
the partnership of Exxon Mobil YMCA. The video can be view on the web via the
